A little bit about my practise:

I started learning T’ai Chi at 21yrs of age and followed a conventional route of following the movements and enjoying my ‘dance-like’ sequence and routines. I didn’t like the references to fighting much and kind of closed my eyes and ears when that bit was going on! I enjoyed this approach well enough at that time.

Within a few years I was fortunate enough to discover and attend some Taijiwuxigong workshops taught by Shen Jin in London. Soon after I began my studies with Dr Shen Hongxun, a true Master of internal forces. Dr Shen is the Director of The Buqi Institute and has hundreds, perhaps thousands, of students across Europe and the States. I have been his student now for 12 years.

Through my practise of Qigong/Taijiwuxigong I really started to discover the internal energy work, and quickly dropped my regular T’ai Chi practise in favour of this study of movement, freedom and tension release in the form of Taijiwuxigong exercise. I stayed with my pure practise of Taijiwuxigong and Meditation for a number of years, attending weekly classes and doing as many of the Taijiwuxigong weekends and retreats with Dr Shen and Shen Jin that I could. When I returned to T'ai Chi I had a developed understanding of what is meant by ‘internal movement’ and ‘internal energy channels’ which led to many ‘Aha's!’ that I had never had in my previous T'ai Chi studies; I had the sensitivity, the ‘language’ and ‘chi’ force to explore the movement through the channels that ‘drives’ the postures and make them work. For me, T’ai Chi has become a further study into the movement, energy flow and direction of internal force, which is emitted from the inside and projected to the outside. It continues to become ever more fascinating as the secrets unfold.

Taijiwuxigong and Meditation firmly remain my favourite practises.

I am currently pioneering the work of ‘Buqi For Horses’, which comes from my distillation of this energetic work and practise with my professional role as equestrienne; resulting in a powerful treatment modality for horses and a bodywork awareness modality for their riders.

I have worked in ‘Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Centres’ in Central London and in Woking, Surrey teaching twice-weekly Qigong classes for over 3 years. I have also worked with Buqi and Qigong for the elderly, for people with chronic health problems and for those with special needs.

I am passionate about this work!
